Violent protests broke out in Chicago after a police shooting that were based upon LIES promulgated by the group Black Lives Matter. It was claimed that the individual shot was unarmed when, in fact, pictures show he had a holstered semi-automatic handgun on his right side as well as extra magazines on his belt. It was claimed that he was shot in the back and that the officer was a white female. All of these claims are LIES!
What is most outrageous is that not a single politician came out in support of the officer(s) right of self-defense. The Police Superintendent, knowing what happened to his predecessor in another police shooting, sent condolences to the suspect’s family and stated that he understood the outrage. Where was Mayor Emanuel other than hiding under his desk?
The loss of any life is a tragic event, but this is a clear cut case of self-defense and no investigation is required. It is interesting to note that the national media announced that the officer involved was a probationary officer. He, as in standard procedure in all urban police agencies, has been placed on administrative desk duty pending the results of the multiple investigations.
The positive is that the body cam video was released almost immediately after the incident. It clearly shows the handgun and the suspect’s hand on the grip necessitating the use of deadly force.
Why any active Chicago police officer is not actively seeking employment with a community that actually supports quality law enforcement is baffling because they clearly understand that the City of Chicago will not protect them in a deadly force use.#bluelivesmatter
